Marc Sheridan

Past President

Marc is currently employed as an Emergency Management Officer with the City of Winnipeg’s Office of Emergency Management. Prior to joining the City of Winnipeg, Marc coordinated the business continuity and emergency management program for the Manitoba Housing and Renewal Corporation, and worked as a Recovery Advisor with the Manitoba Emergency Measures Organization. Marc is a graduate of the Applied Disaster and Emergency Studies (ADES) program at Brandon University, and holds the Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) and Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP) professional designations.

Kenton Friesen


Kenton is a continuity and emergency management professional with experience identifying, applying, and managing corporate resiliency strategies. He is experienced with leading and / or facilitating cross-functional project teams with the mandate of increasing organizational resiliency, including the development of continuity / preparedness training programs, crisis communication and/or urgent mass notification systems, quality improvement, and client or stakeholder relations. Mr. Friesen has been a trusted continuity and emergency management advisor to Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI), the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA), and Dillon Consulting Limited. His credentials include a B.A. (Geography), B.Sc. (Business Computing), Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) and is a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM). Additionally, his affiliations include the Disaster Recovery Information Exchange (DRIE) Central Chapter, International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) Canada Council, Disaster Recovery Institute Canada (DRIC), and the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) – Manitoba Chapter.

Joe Krupnik

With a passion for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Joe is ABCP accredited and has supported DRIE Central since 2001 in previous roles as Special programs, Vice President, President and Past President.  Joe’s 30 years of IT experience comprises of Team Leadership, Strategy, Business Process Management, Business Continuation Planning, Disaster Recovery Plans, Site Risk Audits,  Financial Industry Leadership, Data Center Operations, National Data Center Provisioning Management, Mainframe Technical Support and optimization, Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems, System capacity planning and performance tuning, Messaging and Directory systems. Networks, Firewalls, Communication and System security. Raid Arrays and SANS. Data Archival Systems. Audio and Video servers, Video animation software. Electronic Health Care Systems. Electronics Manufacturing. Test Equipment design and construction. Production and Test Procedure authoring. Discrete Electronics, Programmable Logic Arrays and microprocessor circuit design and construction. Pre-Sales system design, detailed product Costing and Post Sales Systems implementation. Hobbies include Electric Vehicle technology,  and ICE vehicles, Data Science, Space and Aviation enthusiast, Marathon Running, Farming, Carpentry, Mechanical build and repairs, Guitar, Music. An active volunteer with community and school groups.

Susan Lee


Susan Lee is a certified Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) and is currently employed with Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) as the Disaster Recovery Coordinator. Susan is a graduate of University of Manitoba B. Comm (Hons) program and has previous continuity planning experience as a Business Continuity Coordinator with National Leasing.

Jodi MacDonald


Jodi currently works as the Access and Privacy Coordinator, Records Officer and as the Business Continuity Program Manager for the department of Education and Training. Jodi started in government in 1999 with the department of Education, Training and Youth. Jodi holds the Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) certification and has facilitated various BCP workshops. Jodi is an active member of DRIE Central and assists DRIE with programming that complements the work of BCP and incident management professionals.

Lisa Gilmour


Mara Sattler


Mara Sattler has worked for the Public Health Agency of Canada as an Emergency Preparedness and Response Officer since 2009. She has assisted the federal Health Portfolio in responses to disease outbreaks such as H1N1 and avian influenza, food borne illness outbreaks and severe flooding and wildfires.

Kristy Hill


Kristy is currently employed as the Supervisor of Recovery and Assessments with the Manitoba Emergency Measures Organization. She has a degree in Applied Disaster Emergency Sciences from Brandon University with a practicum focus on emergency volunteer recruitment and retention. Kristy is also a volunteer with the Manitoba Marathon Medical Committee and a volunteer firefighter in rural Manitoba.


Debra Hannah

Vice President

Debra works at Canada Life as a Senior Analyst in the Business Continuity Management (BCM) Program, Business Recovery. She has BCM oversight responsibilities that includes training & awareness, business impact analysis requirements gathering, business recovery planning, exercises, reporting and supporting the incident management process. Debra holds her certificate in Business Continuity Institute (CBCI) and is an Associate Member of Business Continuity Institute (AMBCI).
